Sustainable Expeditions in the High Arctic

We are experts in expeditions and transportation solutions to the world’s most remote places. We travel by the force of the wind, leaving no footprint behind.

2025 Trans-Arctic Expeditions

Our Trans-Arctic Expedition Season starts in July and runs through August and September.

S/V Linden is embarking an hugely Ambitious project of interconnected expeditions which Weill see us sail around Svalbard, from Svalbard to Greenland, from Greenland to Iceland and then from Iceland to Norway. A voyage like no other awaits!

2025 Ski&Sail with Arctic Guides

Our Ski & Sail season runs from March to May.

Experience unique ski touring and the beauty of Svalbard on our Arctic Ski Cruise expedition. Unforgettable moments with magnificent scenery, arctic wildlife, great skiing and midnight sun.

Our approach

We seek to discover hidden gems in the world’s most remote places. We operate in the high Arctic, from northern Norway, the Eastern coast of Greenland and far north to the archipelago of Svalbard. Travelling from A to B, by the force of the wind, leaving a minimal carbon foot print behind. We seek out the most untouched places, and place great emphasis on leaving the places just as we found them - without any signs of human activity.

A New Approach to Travelling.

S/V Linden provides a unique platform to explore the remote places in the Arctic, in a carbon neutral way. The wind and weather dictate our course and speed. Travelling slow is not necessarily a bad thing as it gives you time to digest every detail of the magnificent Arctic landscape. By travelling slow and in complete silence, by the force of the wind, we are able to observe far more wildlife throughout our journey.

Our Mission

Dedicated to Scientific Inquiry

We are deeply committed to doing our part in furthering scientific inquiry by contributing to research, ocean clean up, and advancing education and social awareness of the Arctic.

We want Linden to be a platform for scientists to conduct high-quality research in some of the most inaccessible places on earth. We strive to create more affordable scientific research opportunities and provide a useful platform for niche scientific projects, with lower budgets, to carry out projects that otherwise might not be possible.

Ocean Clean Up

Plastic is a big problem, especially in the high Arctic which is a very vulnerable ecosystem. Each year. we encounter tons of plastic along the shores we sail past. As a result, we have engaged in various projects with NGO´s, Plastic change, and Mission Blue, as well as the Norwegian government in different plastic clean up and documentation projects. We continue to seek out new ways our platform can help clean up the ocean in the Arctic region.

Sustainable Cargo Solutions

Most forms of transportation in the Arctic are powered by an engine. But the Arctic is a very fragile environment, where noise and oil pollution has a huge impact on the environment and wildlife. It is imperative for us to find more sustainable ways of cargo transportation. We want to contribute as much as we can to a carbon neutral transformation of the transportation industry. We believe even as a smaller vessel that we can make an impact, particularly in the Arctic where cargo transportation is difficult, expensive and entails heavy fuel consumption.

We are constantly on the lookout, for new partners who need goods transported in the Arctic.

The Arctic has the power to inspire wonder in the imagination.

What will exploring the arctic mean for you?
