Come onboard for an Sailing voyage

What to expect?

During our sail voyages, you will get the full experience of life at sea. Good and bad weather, being part of a watch team, sailing at all hours of the day. It is a raw unfiltered experience of how it is sailing a 3 masted schooner north of the Arctic Circle. We will have a few stops if any at all. We will have a schedule, but the wind and sea dictate how fast and which direction we sail. We have a voyage plan, but it is subject to change.

Logistics

We recommend you fly in and out from the airport nearest the embarking and disbarking harbour. You will meet Linden, at the harbor an hour before departure. You are required to carry a valid passport, and some nationalities require a visa in advance to enter Norway. Please check visa, COVID-19 vaccination, and immigration requirements.

We strongly recommend you buy personal travel insurance.

Clothing and equipment

The winter in Norway is very unpredictable. The weather can change fast, so expect the worst. Clothing-wise, we recommend that you follow the 3 layer principle, starting with a solid wool layer closest to the body, adding another layer with a warm sweater or fleece, and some outdoor trousers. And a final layer of water and a windproof layer of jacket and trousers. Some good quality wool socks, waterproof mittens or gloves, and a warm beanie or hat. There will be warm thermal suits free to your disposal onboard.

We recommend bringing the following equipment.

  • Camera

  • A good pair of binoculars (they will quickly become your best friend)

  • Some warm winter boots.

  • Warm gloves/mittens

  • Warm hat or beanie

  • Water-resistant or waterproof backpack or similar for carrying cameras and equipment during landings. Alternatively, a plastic bag inside a traditional backpack will do the job.

  • Lip balm and hand lotion. Your skin tends to dry out in cold and dry air.
